Meet Oskar, Maria & Ola
Five years ago, we created a new image concept with the theme "Rollco's heroes". We wanted to highlight what makes Rollco unique – customer-focuse and committed employees. Those who participated in the pictures quickly became recognizable faces even outside the company. All of them, Oskar, Ola, Maria, Annelie and Henrik still work at Rollco. We took the opportunity to speak to the three of them about their time here.
Who are the people behind the photos, and how did they end up at Rollco?
Oskar, head of the technical department, has worked at Rollco for seven years. He started as a co-worker at the technical support team, which was a big plus for him.
– That was definitely one of the things that attracted me. I didn't have to sit by myself, something many designers do.
Ola has been at Rollco since 2013. With a background at SKF, which previously ran a similar business in Helsingborg, he took the chance to start at Rollco when SKF centralized to Gothenburg. Today he works as a salesman.
Maria also works at the sales department. She has been with Rollco for six years and previously held a similar position at another company in the industrial sector.
Corporate culture – Rollco's DNA
How do you experience the corporate culture at Rollco?
- Rollco is very flexible to work at, says Oskar. Here you have a lot of freedom and personal responsibility.
- A really flat organisation, says Maria.
- As a customer, it is very easy to buy from us, says Ola.
We are very fast. If a request comes in in the morning, it can often be processed and prepared for delivery in the afternoon of the same day. It is part of Rollco's DNA.
Ola adds that he believes that is Rollco's biggest competitive advantage.
- Our competitors don't come close, he says.
Customer experience beyond the ordinary
Ola comes to think of an event a few years ago.
- We received a request from a company that we had no relationship with before, says Ola.
That they were a customer of one of our competitors was not something that I knew at the time.
Ola made a quote for the customer, which was later converted into an order and sent from Rollco the same day. The very next day, the customer had received his order. He sent an email to Ola thanking him for the prompt service. He also said he was still waiting for a quote from his previous supplier, the competitor, who had yet to get back to him. Similar situations occur every now and then, says Ola.
Job satisfaction at Rollco
What do you appreciate most about your colleagues at Rollco?
- The desire to solve things. You don't just pass things on, you want to help. There is a great commitment, says Oskar.
Ola appreciates the open atmosphere.
- It doesn't matter if you work in the office or in the production, it's a family atmosphere. We always sit together at lunch and eat and talk.
– You have respect for each other's individual knowledge. Everyone is needed to make it work, he says.
- I appreciate that you dare to question and say what you think, says Maria. The company culture encourages people to come up with constructive suggestions and questions to develop and drive things forward.
Memorable events at the company
Is there a particular event during your time at Rollco that you remember particularly well?
- The summer parties, says Ola with a laugh.
I am actually being serious. We have had very pleasant company gatherings, sometimes with colleagues from Rollco offices in other countries.
- A difficult thing that actually generated a lot of positives in the end, was when we had a big data failure in 2019, says Maria.
– The whole company got through it in a fantastic way. We had to go back to basics and use paper and pencil, Ola fills in. The way we did it showed that together we can get through very tough situations. The flow through the company became clear, everything went from one hand to the next, I think it strengthened us as a company.
2024: Anniversary 🎉
How will you celebrate Rollco´s 25th anniversary?
- We're going to have a party, of course, Ola answers immediately.
Colleagues from all Rollco companies are coming. Everybody is invited to Sweden, even our co-workers in Taiwan. There will be a sales meeting and big party. Then maybe some customers will come to visit. Perhaps we will organize a fun customer event when we are in our new premises.
