Rollco's product management department shares the development process of the TB Timing Belt Conveyor, from the drawing board to a finished product. A process where the customer always was at the centre.
From idea to finished solution
The Timing Belt Conveyor TB is a new product in Rollco's range, developed entirely by the company itself. The project began with a requirements overview in collaboration with Rollco's sales organization. A detailed needs analysis was conducted among the company's customers. The results were then carefully compared with several other products on the market with similar function and performance. Additionally, previous customer-specific solutions that Rollco had made were reviewed. A couple of possible concepts were developed and evaluated against each other, to find the best solution.
Well-proven solution
The Timing Belt Conveyor TB has been thoroughly tested during development. A test rig with maximum length units and stands, together with Rollco's standard drive units, was built. The units were subjected to maximum weight load and tested over their entire performance range of speeds, loads and lengths. Considerable resources were invested in the development of the test rig to ensure its quality.
Customers decide further developments
Rollco's product management team says that they are very responsive to requests from the market and the company's customers. If there is a high demand for something, they will eventually try to include it in the standard range of timing belt conveyors. What the customers want, is what the future will be.
Many customers have requested a drive unit positioned below the belt. This would allow transportation of products that extend slightly beyond the width of the conveyor. Therefore, the next step in the development of the Timing Belt Conveyor TB is the implementation of an underdrive.
In the future, the CAD configurator for timing belt conveyors might be expanded to enable the underdrive to be placed on any unit, resulting in a "crosswise centre drive."
CAD files and performance directly on Rollco's website
On the Rollco website you can configure the timing belt conveyor to suit your products and applications. It is possible to create systems with up to ten units with different distances between them, up to six meters long. There are several different belt coatings and options such as cleats and false teeth.
The CAD configurator provides fast and accurate images, performance, CAD files and order codes for a wide range of different designs. Everything included in the configurator is part of Rollco's standard range. This means that everything also is included in calculations and risk assessments. This ensures that you, as a customer, can promptly receive a quote with price and lead time.
