Joachim Gasslander's broad experience in production and quality made him a perfect match when Rollco was looking for a quality manager for the company. He says that he was drawn to Rollco's company profile and thought, "ah, I'll submit an application". Here, he saw an opportunity to work more operationally himself.
Passionate about safety and quality
Joachim will have ultimate responsibility for Rollco's quality work and will be the one leading the company's work with ISO. Safety and quality are somethings he is passionate about.
At Rollco, he looks forward to focusing even more on quality and claims management at the company. He believes that if you icrease awareness among employees, you automatically increase quality.
Broad experience in quality work
In recent years, Joachim has worked as a unit manager, production manager and site manager. His most recent employment was at Nordkalk, one of the leading limestone companies in Northern Europe. He worked there for 5.5 years and was responsible for four different production sites.
At Nordkalk, he was involved in conducting several audits, including ISO9001, ISO14001, HACCP and CE marking. In connection with this, he himself acted as internal auditor on a few occasions.
Before his position at Nordkalk, Joachim worked for 25 years at Calderys Nordic AB (formerly Lafarge Svenska Höganäs AB) in several different roles, the last ten years as production manager.
Joachim began his professional career as a trained ship engineer and worked a few stints at sea in his younger years.
An active multitasker
– Privately, I'm a real multitasker, says Joachim. A lot of time goes into working out, I like to work out 5–7 times a week. It's mostly weight training and spinning, but I also do some road cycling.
Food is a big interest. Joachim has a large outdoor kitchen with five grills, a pizza oven and a BBQ smoker . He is also a dedicated chili grower.
On nice summer days, he likes to take the motorboat, which is located in Höganäs harbour , across the strait to Hornbæk in Denmark.
“I like to travel in general,” says Joachim. I also have a great interest in reptiles which has accompanied me for much of my life.
